A practical festival camping checklist for tickets, shelter, sleep, water, weather, power, vehicle rules, offline maps, accessibility and leaving no trace.

Start with the rules, not the packing list A good festival camping checklist begins with the event itself. Before buying gear, verify what your ticket includes, whether your vehicle needs its own pass, when the campground opens, whether re-entry is allowed, what fuel or generators are permitted and when you have to leave. A tent is useful. The correct credential is more important. Credentials and arrival Save these before you leave reliable service: - Festival ticket or wristband instructions - Vehicle, RV or camping pass - Government-issued ID - Campground gate hours - Event address and offline directions - Festival map and schedule - Emergency and accessibility contact information If your group wants adjacent campsites, check whether the organizer requires everyone to arrive together. Sleep and shelter Bring a shelter you have set up before, stakes appropriate for the ground, a ground tarp when useful, sleeping pad, bedding rated for the overnight temperature and a way to create shade during the day. Add rain protection even when the forecast looks clean. Outdoor events can turn a comfortable campsite into a wet gear-management problem quickly. Water, food and hygiene Confirm whether free water is available and where it is located. Bring refillable containers, food you can safely store, hand-cleaning supplies, sunscreen, insect protection and any medication you will need for the full stay. If showers exist, learn whether they are free, timed, paid or restricted to certain camping areas. Power and connectivity Assume your phone may become less useful than it is at home. Download tickets, maps, schedules and directions. Bring a battery bank and the cables you actually use. Do not bring a generator until you have verified the event's generator and fuel policy. Vehicle and campsite logistics Know whether your car can leave once parked. Some festivals allow general parking re-entry while prohibiting camping-vehicle movement. Others lock the entire campground into a stay-put model. Pack critical medication, weather gear and nighttime essentials so you do not need an emergency store run. Accessibility and medical planning If anyone in your group needs accessible camping, parking, viewing, showers, charging, medication refrigeration, ASL or mobility assistance, contact the organizer early. “ADA available” is not enough detail for a trip plan. Leave with everything you brought Trash bags, a campsite sweep and enough room in the vehicle for wet or dirty gear belong on the packing list too. The final job is not checking out—it is leaving the site without your camp behind. Browse the festival directory and camping festival guides to build the checklist around a specific Outpost.
